"Tag" Dribble Drill
Goal: Teach the players to dribble quickly and change direction
with the ball.
Description: The players dribble in a designated area, each
player with a ball. One player is "it" until this player tags
another player. When the other player is tagged, then the tagged
player becomes "it". For a tag to be "official", the tagging player
is still dribbling, not leaving the ball to make the tag.

"Steal the Ball" Drill
Goal: Teach players to dribble while being closely marked.
Description: On two lines about 15 to 20 yards apart, the
players line up with an equal number of players on each side and
with one ball in the middle of the lines. The players each have a
number. The coach calls a number. The two players with that number
sprint to the ball, each attempting to dribble the ball back over
their line. The player must dribble, not kick, the ball over the
line in order of receive a point for the successful action.

game except what I learned over thirty years ago in elementary school.
I am in a panic. I start practice soon and will be coaching eight and
nine year olds... I'll be relying on your material for my coaching
efforts. Thanks!!." - D.L., California.
