"Rollout Drills
Goal: Develop footwork for rollout
passes... Description: Using markers for the center and tackles, place
cones or towels about 6 yards behind the tackles. The QB gets into the proper
stance over center, gives a short cadence, simulates the snap, brings the ball
up in front of the right armpit (reverse everything of left-handed QB's), rolls
around the markers curling back to the line of scrimmage. At the end of this
action, the QB runs past the line of scrimmage about 5 yards. The QB reaches the
top of their arc in 5 steps, then shorten his stride while running to the line
of scrimmage. The QB's body is under control with the non-throwing shoulder
pointing downfield and the hips still turned in the direction the QB is
running... Equipment: Ball, cones or markers."

"Open Receiver Drill
Goal: Teach the QB to scan the entire field,
automatically use the proper footwork and find the open receiver...
Description: The QB sets up on the goal line with 10 or more receivers
scattered from sideline to sideline at distances varying from 5 - 30 yards. The
QB faces the receivers with the coach standing behind the QB. The coach points
to one of the receivers making this player the live receiver. The QB simulates
their snap, drop using proper mechanics and sets to throw while continually
scanning the field looking for the receiver with the raised hand, the live
receiver. The live receivers wait until the QB is a couple of steps into their
drop before raising their hand. This drill is repeated until all the receivers
have had a chance to catch a pass... Equipment: Balls."
