appear in
" Effective Child & Parent Connections"!!!
"World Records
Keeping track of the consecutive times your child successfully completes one
skill can be used to your advantage. Your child can successfully set a "new
individual world record" for consecutively performing one skill. For
example, you are teaching your child to throw a ball accurately. Your child is a
beginner successfully throwing the ball to you 9 times without making you move
your feet. Before the 10th throw, you stop the action telling your child that
the next throw, when successful, will set a "new individual world record for
throwing accuracy". Anytime your child breaks a record, make a big deal out
of the event!

"Your Child is Not There
As soon as you can after a play session and in front of your child, praise some
action from the your child's practice session to someone else. Speak as if your
child were not in the room, talking about how well your child did the skill and
how much improvement your child has shown with their skills."
