HowToPlay.com's "Essential Baseball Mechanics"!!!
Experienced Third Basemen handle
screamers by dropping to their knees while keeping their body square
to the baseball. The hands move between the knees, the chin
tucked into the chest and the shoulders are forward. The
object is keeping the ball in front of the Third Baseman. Even
by just knocking the ball down, the Third Baseman will have plenty
of time to make a accurate throw to first to get the out.
Baseball Coaches teach Third
Baseman that their primary responsibility is to cover the ball, the
next responsibility is to cover the bag.
